Our Admissions Workshops

Want to go abroad, but don’t want to work with us one on one?

Then we’ve got just the thing for you!

Of course, you’re more than welcome to work one on one with us, but if you’d rather just meet once a week and handle most of the work yourself, then our camps are perfect.

Highly focused, these camps make sure you’ve got everything you need to apply to universities around the world.

Held once a week for three weeks, students learn how to research university options (including which ones to avoid overseas), how to write a personal statement, what a good recommendation looks like, and how to figure out financial aid offers and visa requirements.

Rather than working with a counselor who may have only a passing knowledge of international admissions at best, you’ll benefit from the expertise of one of America’s leading experts in international university admissions.

Best of all, these are specialized to exactly what a student needs; if you’re only interested in law in the UK, you won’t be wasting time learning about Canadian philosophy programs.

Camps start in June and run through the summer; meetings will be the same time each week, and offer plenty of time for questions and answers during sessions.

Please note that these are for students and their families only. Other counselors may not attend.

Specialized camps will be held in the following areas:

  • Undergraduate Admissions in the UK
  • Graduate Admissions in the UK
  • Oxbridge Admissions
  • Undergraduate Admissions in the EU
  • Graduate Admissions in the EU
  • Undergraduate Admissions in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand
  • Graduate Admissions in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand
  • Law Admissions Outside the US
  • Medical School Admissions Outside the US

Each live session will meet once a week for two hours, and over the course of three weeks, students will end up with:

  • A finalized list of programs in their chosen region
  • A finished personal statement
  • Guidance for supplements (only applicable to certain programs)
  • An Overseas “Brag Sheet” to help references write the most effective letter of recommendation possible
  • Completed applications for the most popular choices in their respective area of focus
  • Automated reminders to both the student and parents (if desired) about when to submit materials and register for any applicable required exams
  • The peace of mind that comes with knowing their applications are complete

I’ve already got a college counselor; why do I need this? As more Americans apply abroad, many international universities have grown increasingly frustrated with US applicants who misunderstand the application process, packaging their overseas applications similar to the way they apply on the Common App. Further, in more than a decade of doing this, I’ve consulting with countless other college counselors, both independent and school-based, all of whom are experts in US admissions, but do not have the experience, bandwidth, or niche knowledge of the vast, varied, and unfamiliar landscape of international admissions. Just like you don’t go to an optometrist for a tooth issue, international admissions requires its own expertise that is quite unique.
