We get it, college is expensive. But it doesn’t have to be so expensive.
If you’ve made it this far, you probably know that you can save thousands of dollars by going to college outside the United States. However, that doesn’t mean that you should have to pay an arm and a leg for the help to make that happen.
An Education Abroad offers a number of ways for families to work with us, recognizing that everyone has different needs and different expectations.
Just Give Me Free Stuff!
You’ve got it. We produce a newsletter that provides a fair amount of information about the process of going overseas.
Working One on One with Us
We offer everyone a free 30-minute introductory session. This is a chance to ask any really basic questions (you shouldn’t have to google, for example, how 529 plans work overseas, when we’re happy to talk about them), and to see if everyone gets along.
For Rising and Current Seniors
If you’re ready to make the jump of working with us, our unlimited package is $4,799 for a year of unlimited help. You get unlimited access (within reason, of course) to everything. Also, you get:
- More than two countries’ worth of programs
- Expert advice on the admissions practices of programs to which you apply
- Unlimited proofreading of personal statements
- Advice on letters of recommendation (remember, in the UK you only get one!)
- Support through Clearing and Adjustment, if applicable
- Help securing accommodations in your new city!
Students who have just entered their senior year (and aspiring graduate students) get the most value out of this program. If you are an educator looking for a graduate degree abroad, email us for our special rates.
For Sophomores and Juniors
Finally, for those who are younger and know that they want to go abroad, we offer our two year unlimited plan at $6,999. Juniors typically take advantage of this plan. This plan is ideal for someone who knows that they want to go to university overseas, from an earlier point of their high school career, and wants to be in the best position to make a strong application. In addition to the above, this plan includes:
- Help planning AP and IB courses and tests
- Assistance on college visits abroad during breaks
- Enhanced counseling on what degree field is best for your future goals
Set Piece Plans and Workshops
For families that want the one on one experience, there is limited availability for set-piece plans, where you work with us for a set number of meetings. Please email us for details; these tend to be considerably more affordable than the unlimited programs.
Additionally, if you want to join one of our workshops, please visit here for more details.
For Schools and Other Counselors
We offer a number of services for schools and other independent educational consultants to help them best serve their students. After all, we totally get that international admissions consulting is a rather niche market. Get in touch with us to learn more.
What about Freshmen?
We strongly believe that students should focus on getting good grades, developing their passions, and having fun during the first year of high school.
Also, chances are those hormones are still raging, and you’ve got enough on your hands.
Some American-focused counselors will work with students starting during their freshman year, and there are certainly advantages for doing so for those focused on American universities.
But we don’t see a need for it for overseas universities. It just seems to be a bit of a money grab to start so early.
To that end, we typically won’t work with families with freshmen; though certain exceptions (e.g. taking advantage of EU citizenship, a planned move, etc.) do exist.
That said, that doesn’t mean that there are not things you can do to prepare your freshman. For starters, make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter. Second, we do have webinars and other events throughout the year to help families figure out if this is the right fit for them.
And you can always reach out. When I say Kevin is obsessed with this stuff, I’m not joking.
What about Discounts or Payment Plans?
We’re happy to offer a discount on our unlimited plans to the families of teachers, first responders, and military. Additionally, families are welcome to discuss payment plans for unlimited plans. Unfortunately, we’re not able to offer those for packages under $1,500.
